Children's Hall of Intangible Heritage

The Children's Intangible Heritage Center is the winning entry in the design competition for the "Children's Intangible Heritage Center Construction Project," proposing a facility on the site adjacent to the National Intangible Heritage Center that broadens the base of intangible heritage engagement. Viewing the National Intangible Heritage Center as the "frame" for preserving and transmitting intangible heritage, the Children's Intangible Heritage Center was planned as a place that expands and opens outward from this frame, connecting with people through everyday interaction. Exhibition and experience, education, and performance facilities are organically linked to enable transmission-based education through experience and play, and the building's mass is composed at a comfortable, human scale that harmonizes with the surrounding landscape between the 257-meter-long National Intangible Heritage Center and the natural setting of the Jeonju stream.
