Overview
에스샵건축사사무소는 2024년에 설립된 건축설계 사무소로, 문화시설·체육시설·공공시설을 중심으로 공공건축의 새로운 가능성을 만들어가고 있습니다.
설립 이후 국립무형유산원 어린이 무형유산 전당, 국립심혈관연구소, 성남시 야구전용구장, 화성시립미술관 국제지명 설계공모 등 문화·연구·체육 분야의 주요 프로젝트에서 당선되었습니다. 지역과 도시의 맥락을 읽고, 미적 완성도와 기능적 해법을 함께 갖춘 공간을 제안합니다.
에스샵의 작업은 공공성, 장소성, 개방성을 건축적으로 구현하는 데 집중합니다. 성남시 야구전용구장은 기존 시설의 단순 보강을 넘어 시민 친화적 공간과 복합 활용 방안을 제시했고, 도요 이토와 협업한 화성시립미술관은 곡선형 지붕과 오산천과 연계된 계단형 광장으로 상징적인 문화공간을 구현했습니다.
에스샵건축사사무소는 현상설계부터 실시설계까지, 공공건축의 전 과정을 함께합니다. 디자인랩(Design Lab)이 현상설계 단계에서 프로젝트의 방향성과 완성도 높은 디자인을 제안하면, 테크니컬랩(Technical Lab)이 이를 정교한 실시설계로 구현합니다. 두 조직의 유기적인 협업을 통해 개념부터 시공까지 일관된 완성도를 유지합니다.
S# Architects, founded in 2024, is an architectural design firm exploring new possibilities for public architecture, with a focus on cultural, sports, and public facilities.
Since its founding, the firm has won major competitions across the cultural, research, and sports sectors — including the Children's Intangible Heritage Center at the National Intangible Heritage Center, the National Cardiovascular Research Institute, the Seongnam City Baseball Stadium, and the international invited design competition for the Hwaseong Museum of Art. We read the context of each region and city and propose spaces that combine aesthetic refinement with functional solutions.
S#'s work concentrates on giving architectural form to publicness, sense of place, and openness. The Seongnam City Baseball Stadium goes beyond a simple reinforcement of existing facilities to propose citizen-friendly spaces and mixed-use strategies, while the Hwaseong Museum of Art — designed in collaboration with Toyo Ito — realizes a symbolic cultural space through its curved roof and a stepped plaza connected to the Osan Stream.
S# Architects accompanies the entire process of public architecture, from competition design through construction documentation. The Design Lab proposes each project’s direction and a highly resolved design at the competition stage, and the Technical Lab realizes it through precise construction documents. Through the organic collaboration of these two teams, we maintain consistent quality from concept to construction.
